As one of the premier golf courses in all of the Tampa Bay area, you can expect a great golfing experience at Plantation Palms. Our course was designed by well-known architect Dave Harman to be both challenging for the good golfer, and friendly to the average golfer. As someone said, “It’s one of the longest short courses you’ll ever play.” Once you need to hit that 250 yard drive to reach that 425 yard par 4 you’ll know what they meant.
The front nine winds through a typical Florida woodlands with narry a home to be seen. You’ll find Number 2 especially challenging, but the rest of the front side will test all aspects of your game, with both short and long par 3’s and par 4’s. And there’s plenty of water and sand to keep you honest and staying in the short grass.
The back side is just as challenging with one of the hardest par 3’s you’ll find around in Hole 14. Again a mixture of short and long and easy and difficult make your round interesting. And don’t think that once you get on the green the hard work is over. Every green is undulating and challenging. The greens average between 11 and 12 on the stimpmeter, so you better be able to roll your rock, if you want to make your par.
The holes at Plantation Palms run the gamut from short to long to challenging to relatively easy. The hole diagrams to the right give you an idea what we are talking about.
But to really experience the amazing layout and challenge of some of our holes, you really have to play the course.
You can’t appreciate the challenge of Hole Number 14, with it’s difficult second shot over water, until you play the course.
Many holes require long, accurate tee shots to clear water or waste areas. Yes YOU WILL BE CHALLENGED!
You can’t sense the slopping of some fairways, and severe challenge of some of our multi-level greens until you are here.
That’s why we recommend you come and play Plantation Palms for the true experience. Book a Tee Time here.
